Goodbye Neighbours, hello Booking.com’s most successful promotion.

Not many people knew that, as well as hotels, Booking.com offered a huge range of houses and homestays. So, to get the word out, we used houses that everyone knew and loved. After an epic 37 year run, we leveraged the upcoming finale of iconic Australian soap opera 'Neighbours', and put the most beloved characters’ soon to be empty Ramsay Street house on Booking.com to highlight the brand’s range of homes to rent. The stays booked out within seconds and over the next few days, we secured 272 pieces of coverage across broadcast, print, online and socials, with a total reach of +33 million.

 

To bolster the PR campaign, I authored and directed a film for the accompanying media kit. Interestingly, due to the conclusion of the season, I had the unique opportunity to be the final director to shoot scenes on the iconic Ramsey Street.
